Last Saturday a magnificent Family festival took place in the capital of Latvia already for the fourth time. Hundreds of families with children celebrated a festival “Family – pride and strength of Latvia” in Vermanes park, and they also took part in the parade to the Doma Cathedral, where everyone enjoyed the opening of culmination of the festival and the gala concert.

On February 15, EXIT Family Center held a traditional evening called “All About Love and Those in Love”. But the only traditional thing about it was the name.  Latvian Minister of Family, Children Affairs and Integration Ainars Bashtiks does not agree with the suggestions to reorganize his ministry. He does not support the idea of transferring the functions of the Ministry to the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Welfare and Ministry of Education and Science.

Pastor Olga Ledyaeva is going on her next tour continuing her ministry in the Russian New Generation Churches. On February 14-15, 2009 she will lead two services in the city of Novosibirsk as a mini-conference called “Strong Family is the Foundation of the Society”.

 “The preparation for the World Family Congress has begun in the capital of Holland, Amsterdam. The main goals of the Congress are the popularization of the family values as well as development of strategies to strengthen the institution of the family, lowering the number of abortions, prevention of the demographic winter and the culture of death,” reports the Christian Megaportal invictory.org. Delegates from different countries will attend the Congress to represent different churches, missions, religious and social organizations as well as political forces.

 On May 23, 2009 Riga will hold a Family Celebration for the fourth time. As the Coordinator of the Family Foundation Organization Committee Vyacheslav Kostigov shared exclusively for our web-site, this year the celebration will be bright, colorful and well attended. The organizers are sure that the current economical situation will not affect the celebration, which became a good tradition. Riga City Council and the Ministry of Family and Children Affairs as well as a number of companies and entrepreneurs are ready to support it.

As usual, the new year is starting very actively in the New Generation. Right after the end of the church fast and a trip to Ukraine Pastor Alexey Ledyaev will go to Amsterdam, Netherlands according to the invitation of Allan Carlson, the President of the World Family Congress. On January 27-29 he will participate in the discussion about the organization of the upcoming 5th Congress.

 Right before Christmas and New Year's it is common to give gifts, do charity and good deeds for friends, acquaintances and even total strangers. EXIT Family Center didn't stay aside this tradition. Looking through children's drawings that were sent to the My Family contest, we have noticed a few families with many children. And we have decided to do something good for them.

 Christmas and New Year is the time that is associated with gifts. And charity initiative organized by the Ludza New Generation Church for the celebration days brought joy to many children. The gifts were received by over 350 kids of the Ludza region. There was a whole marathon of performances.

 Christmas is a time when we need to stop and look back: what have we done this year, what was a success and what was not? Christmas is not the time for wild celebrations and haste. It is a time for a quite observation and contemplation about what has happened more than 2,000 years ago on that day... “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.
