Pride Won’t Help Sexual Minorities in Latvia

 Having studied responses by numerous nongovernmental organizations and individuals in regards to the amendments to the National Tolerance Fostering Program, the Integration Minister Oskars Kastens concluded that another gay pride will furtherly disintegrate the society. Therefore, a solution to the problem should be rather pursued in the form of a dialogue.

Sunday program for Scott Lively and Kenneth Hutcherson, Christian rights advocates from the US, started with attending morning service in New Generation Church. Pastor Alexei was excited to introduce the America guests to the people and made a special remark that those were not merely pastors and Christians but rather highly skilled professionals and experts in the area of defending human rights.

Victory Requires Joint Efforts

 The last day in Latvia was the most intense and fruitful day for the US religious rights advocates Scott Lively and Kenneth Hutcherson during their entire visit.
It was already reported that the guests arrived to Riga from the US at New Generation’s invitation for a four day tour in the Latvian capital. The purpose of this visit was closely to study the situation with Christian rights and freedoms as well as national media’s position towards the expansion of homosexual movement and tradition family values.

High Profile Meeting

Saturday, March 10, was another day in Riga for the American human rights advocates Scott Lively and Kenneth Hutcherson. The day started off for the guests with a tour around the city, exploring the sites of interest and learning historical facts. After that, a new meeting took place which could be rated high profile. Leaders and representatives of the nation’s larger Christian groups responded to an invitation by Jānis Vanags, Archbishop of Latvian Lutheran Church, and assembled in the Consistory Hall.
